Manage Green Leaf supply and logistics operations for Tea Processing Company in Bomet County

Job Description/Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

·         Supervising team members that cover Leaf buying, Field Extension Services, Customer Services, Firewood and Logistics.

·         Maintaining an accurate database of all leaf suppliers within our catchment area.

·         Planning and executing leaf and firewood purchase and collection activities to achieve target volumes.

·         Developing leaf suppliers’ confidence by ensuring transparency and accurate weighing at all times.

·         Listening to leaf suppliers’ queries and providing solutions.

·         Organizing efficient leaf collection with minimum variances and ensuring delivery to the factory in time and in good condition.

·         Planning and executing meetings farmers to motivate them to continue to supply high quality leaf

·         Maintaining Rain Forest Alliance standards and support ongoing compliance processes.


Decision Making:

·         All green leaf supply decisions in line with factory plans

·         Decision to align and drive achievement of the vision and mission of the factory as a key member of the Factory Management Team

·         Recruitment, Training and Supervision of green leaf, logistics, customer services, and firewood team

Responsibility over data or information and assets

·         Responsible for ensuring efficiency and effectiveness of green leaf supply maintaining quality, volume, supplier confidence

Responsibility over staff.

Job specification

Required educational qualifications

·         Minimum Diploma or

·         Degree in agriculture, management or a business related discipline from a recognized University.

Professional qualifications

·         Specialised training and experience in leaf supply and procurement process and management

Relevant Experience and Key skills

·         Knowledge and experience working in Bomet and Kericho Tea growing Zone.

·         Should have at least 5-year experience in tea factory and field operations.

Personal Attributes

·         Self-starter, able to conceptualise and drive initiatives to fruition.

·         Energetic and good interpersonal skills

·         Excellent communication skills- written and verbal.

·         Administrative skill to manage a large team of staff and leaf suppliers
