Job role
The primary goal for this position is to ensure smooth, efficient processes that meet exceptional quality standards and client expectations while optimizing productivity and reducing labor costs.
Academic
& Professional Requirements
- Bachelor’s
Degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field. Relevant
certifications or an advanced degree are an added advantage.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Production Manager or in a similar role within the manufacturing industry
Technical
Skills
- Deep
understanding of specialized wood manufacturing stages, including
machinery operation, assembly techniques, finishing processes, and
final packaging.
- Proficiency
in implementing efficiency-driving methodologies such as 5S, Six
Sigma, and Kaizen to optimize operations.
- Ability
to develop and adjust complex production schedules to meet customer
deadlines and ensure maximum resource utilization.
- Familiarity
with industry quality standards and the ability to lead a quality
control committee to ensure all products meet specifications.
- Technical knowledge of safety regulations and the ability to conduct safety audits and root cause analysis for incident prevention.
Responsibilities & Requirements
1.
Production
Planning & Resource Management
- Develop
and implement production plans and schedules to meet customer
demands and delivery deadlines.
- Ensure
efficient utilization of raw materials, equipment, and labor.
- Monitor
and adjust plans as needed to optimize productivity and minimize
waste.
- Coordinate
with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure a timely supply of
raw materials.
- Monitor inventory levels, implement control measures, and lead stock accuracy efforts.
2.
Leadership & Team Performance
- Lead
production supervisors and workshop staff with equity and fairness.
- Provide
clear direction, guidance, and support to achieve production
targets.
- Foster
a positive work environment promoting teamwork and continuous
improvement.
- Collaborate with the HR Lead to conduct performance evaluations and identify skill development opportunities.
3.
Quality Control & Process Improvement
- Institute
and lead the quality control and assurance committee.
- Enforce
strict quality measures to ensure compliance with specifications and
industry standards.
- Investigate
and resolve production issues or quality concerns promptly.
- Drive
Lean manufacturing principles, such as 5S, Six Sigma, and Kaizen.
- Develop strategies to increase efficiency and reduce material and labor costs.
4.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure
compliance with health and safety regulations, including the
mandatory use of PPE.
- Conduct
regular safety audits, identify hazards, and implement corrective
actions through root cause analysis.
- Provide training and resources to employees to promote safety awareness and best practices.
