Job description:
Valuation & Market Analysis
● Conduct property and asset inspections and prepare timely valuation reports.
● Obtain official property searches and maps from relevant government bodies.
● Verify the purpose of the valuation (e.g., sale, mortgage, insurance, bookkeeping, foreclosure, house allowance, etc.).
● Ensure timely collection and proper accounting of valuation fees, forwarding invoices to clients as per instructions.
● Conduct market surveys to establish comparative property values.
● Gather county land values and recent sales data to assist in property valuation.
● Compile property information, calculate values, negotiate valuation fees with clients and share the details with the accounts team for invoicing
● Build and maintain professional networks to support valuation work, particularly in unfamiliar locations.
● Provide valuation guidance to the sales team.
● Prepare tender and pre-qualification documents for valuation work, including applications to join valuation panels (e.g., banks).
● Maintain the highest ethical and professional standards in all valuation activities.
Supervisory & Training Responsibilities
● Review valuation workings and reports prepared by assistant/trainee valuers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with professional standards.
● Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to assistant/trainee valuers.
● Ensure junior valuers adhere to company policies and industry regulations.
● Assist in the professional development of junior team members by sharing knowledge and best practices.
Reporting & Documentation
● Draft valuation reports for review and approval by the Valuation Manager.
● Implement feedback and revisions as recommended.
● Maintain proper documentation, including property photos, specifications, title copies, and supporting documents.
● Ensure all valuation records are securely stored in both electronic and physical formats.
Client Relations & Business Development
● Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients requiring valuation services.
● Build partnerships with banks, law firms, insurance companies, and other key stakeholders.
● Manage valuation caseloads efficiently, prioritizing tasks based on urgency.
● Handle client communications, including receiving and processing instructions.
● Identify and pursue new valuation business opportunities.
Research & Compliance
● Conduct market research and produce periodic valuation reports.
● Ensure compliance with company policies and professional valuation standards.
● Maintain strict confidentiality in all company affairs.
● Perform any other duties as assigned by the Manager or Director.
