Sample Maker – Garment Industry

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret design sketches, tech packs, and specifications to produce garment samples
• Construct and assemble samples accurately according to required measurements and styles
• Perform fittings, alterations, and adjustments based on feedback from designers and production teams
• Select appropriate fabrics, trims, and materials for sample development
•  Ensure samples meet quality, construction, and finishing standards
• Work closely with designers, pattern makers, and production teams to resolve construction issues
• Maintain sample records and ensure timely delivery of samples
•  Adhere to workplace safety and production procedures

Minimum Qualifications

• Diploma in Fashion Design, Garment Technology, Apparel Production, or a related field
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Sample Maker in a garment or apparel manufacturing environment

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong garment construction and sewing skills
• Ability to operate industrial sewing machines (overlock, flatlock, single needle, etc.)
• Good understanding of patterns, measurements, and fabric behavior
• High attention to detail and quality finishing
• Ability to work from sketches and technical drawings
• Time management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines
• Strong communication and teamwork
