The company has over 50 years’ experience in general insurance underwriting inherited from its parent firm, General Accident Insurance (UK). It continues to underwrite various classes of risks in the general insurance segment, which includes medical and travel insurance. Few companies in the Kenyan market can match its experience within the industry. It continues to play a key role in maintaining the traditions of the insurance Kenya, and it is constantly evolving to meet emerging market needs of the Kenyan insurance marketDuties and Responsibilities: Secure new health business directly and through intermediaries as per set targets.Timely submission of quotations in line with our risk acceptance set guidelines.Processing of endorsement for new business, Additions, and deletionsIssuance of cover write up, policy documents and ensuring proper client files are maintained.Secure all onboarding documentation and premiums for new business.Maintain Renewal retention as per set targets; sending renewal notices and constant follow ups.Service existing health business as the primary key accounts manager.Preparation and participation in tendering process, securing and management of the account.Intermediary management from creation/adoption to license renewal tracking.Facilitate collection and updating of all clients KYCs documentation as per company guidelines.Undertake initial underwriting in accordance with set guidelines to ensure sound acceptance of risk and proper KYC vetting process.Follow up premium collections in a timely manner according to the company’s stipulated guidelines.Client reconciliation and liaise with brokers on where member accessed service not authorized which needs to be paid by the providersSending invoices of exceeded limits to brokers / companies for paymentMaintain excellent customer service with intermediaries and clients; respond to client enquiries and complaints and escalate when and where necessary as per the Company guidelines.Participate in the improvement of current offerings by conducting market research, familiarizing and benchmarking with market trends.Hospital management, vetting & sourcing new providersAdvise cover terms to underwriting to enable timely and proper underwriting, scheme set up and other underwriting requirements.Prepare weekly Sales reports as required against the projected target.Attend scheme performance meetings and advice on measures to mitigate adverse claims experience. RequirementsQualifications and experience: Bachelors’ degree in a business-related field.Professional qualification in Insurance (ACII, IIK).Atleast 5 years’ relevant experience in the insurance industry; similar role.
