Role Objective
Provide independent financial control over shipping and distribution operations, ensuring accurate reconciliation, POD compliance, timely invoicing and identification of revenue leakage.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily route-wise reconciliation of stock, sales, returns and closing stock.
- Reconcile M-Pesa and cash collections and investigate shortages and route variances.
- Track PODs received, pending and ageing while following up on missing PODs, short deliveries and customer claims.
- Monitor Sales Order → Delivery → PGI → Invoice → POD processes, including Naivas transactions.
- Identify PGI transactions pending invoicing, unbilled dispatches and abnormal/manual PGIs.
- Monitor aged, duplicate and open Sales Orders and coordinate closure or cancellation.
- Identify, quantify and track revenue leakage arising from unbilled sales, stock shortages, incorrect billing, returns, deductions and collection gaps.
- Review adherence to SOPs and SAP controls, identify recurring process gaps and maintain an exception tracker.
- Prepare and monitor shipping KPIs covering dispatches, route reconciliation, POD compliance, PGI pending, invoicing, route variances and customer claims.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
- CPA(K), ACCA or CA/Inter CA preferred.
- 5–7 years’ experience preferred, with relevant experience in FMCG, distribution, shipping, accounts receivable or internal controls.
- Strong SAP and Excel skills required.
- Strong analytical, reconciliation, financial control and problem-solving skills.
