Site Engineer (Road Works)
Job summary
We are seeking a Lead Site Engineer to oversee a portfolio of road construction projects and civil infrastructure. Unlike a desk-based role, this position is field-based, requiring the engineer to be stationed on-site across various constituencies to lead bitumen upgrades and bridge construction and general road construction works.

Key Responsibilities
* Technical Execution:
Lead all phases of roadwork, including earthworks, sub-base preparation, and bitumen surfacing, ensuring projects meet design specifications.
* Structural Management:
Oversee the setting out and construction of bridges, culverts, and specialized concrete works.
* Quality Assurance:
Conduct on-site material testing and coordinate with laboratories to verify soil, concrete, and asphalt quality.
* Reporting & Measurement:
Prepare daily/weekly progress reports, take site measurements, and assist in the preparation of Interim Payment Certificates (IPCs).
* Resource Coordination:
Manage the deployment and maintenance of heavy plant machinery (graders, rollers, etc.) and optimize labor productivity.
Candidate Requirements & Qualifications
* Educational Background:
Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma in Civil Engineering.
* Professional Status:
Must be registered with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) as a professional Engineer or KETRB.
* Industry Experience:
5–8 years of hands-on experience in road construction, specifically in bitumen upgrading and structural bridgework.
* Technical Proficiency:
Mastery of AutoCAD/Civil 3D and a deep understanding of Ministry of Roads Standard Specifications.
* Mobility & Licensing:
Must possess a valid driving license. A

Strong ability to manage subcontractors and technical teams in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
