The English-language service broadcasts 24 hours a day.Job Purpose World Service Languages is undergoing a restructuring programme which this role is included within. Therefore this role is only open to those who are substantively employed in World Service Languages, and those who are at risk of redundancy in other areas. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities Create content for a variety of broadcast and digital media platforms, in multiple formats including audio and video.Use your knowledge of the digital media market to produce interesting news content for our website and social media platforms.Ensure the highest quality content is created for our audiences and conforms to BBC Values and editorial standards. Knowledge, Skills, Training & Experience Knowledge of African stories and trends affecting African audiences , as well as the changing needs of these audiencesDemonstrable knowledge in a journalistic background is essential.Experience of digital newsgathering, original journalism, using various cameras and filing video from the field is important.Track record of filming and editing high quality video content, with knowledge of working with Final Cut Pro and other tools and applications as required.
