DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Website Development & Customization

• Design, develop, and deploy custom WordPress themes and plugins to meet specific business requirements.
• Modify and enhance existing WordPress themes and plugins for improved functionality and design.
• Write clean, well-documented, and efficient code following WordPress coding standards.
• Integrate third-party APIs and tools to extend website capabilities when necessary.
• Implement responsive design principles to ensure websites are mobile-friendly and visually appealing across devices.

Website Maintenance & Operations

• Perform daily website health checks including backups, security audits, plugin/theme updates, and troubleshooting.
• Monitor website performance metrics such as loading speed, uptime, and server resource usage.
• Identify and resolve bugs, errors, and technical issues promptly to ensure minimal downtime.
• Coordinate with hosting providers and other technical teams to resolve server-related issues.
• Manage website databases and ensure data integrity and security.

Content Management & Collaboration

• Work closely with marketing, design, and content teams to update website content aligned with campaigns, promotions, and business goals.
• Implement and customize WordPress page builders, SEO plugins, and marketing tools to enhance user experience and campaign effectiveness.
• Assist in designing website layouts, wireframes, and user interface improvements.
• Ensure content is optimized for SEO and accessibility standards.
• Train non-technical team members on content management and basic troubleshooting as needed.

Technical Troubleshooting & Support

• Diagnose and resolve website issues, including compatibility problems, broken links, or plugin conflicts.
• Manage and respond to technical support requests from internal stakeholders or clients.
• Document technical issues and solutions to maintain a knowledge base for future reference.
• Escalate complex technical problems to senior developers or external vendors when necessary.

Continuous Improvement &  Innovation

• Stay updated with the latest WordPress updates, plugins, security vulnerabilities, and web development trends.
• Propose and implement improvements to website architecture, security, and performance.
• Conduct regular website audits to ensure compliance with security, speed, and usability best practices.
• Experiment with new tools, plugins, and technologies that could enhance website functionality or team productivity.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

• Degree or certificate in Web Design, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
• Proven experience as a website developer, with a strong focus on WordPress
• development (custom theme and plugin development)
• Proficient in PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and MySQL
• Experience with website performance optimization and SEO best practices
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues independently or with a team
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments
• Familiarity with website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) is a plus
