Employment Details
- Location: The Nairobi Japanese School (Karen)
- Employment Type: Full-time (3-month probation
period; renewable annually)
- Contract renewal is determined each year based on performance evaluation. Contracts may not be renewed if work attitude or job performance is insufficient.
- Working Hours: 7:30 a.m. – 4:15 p.m.
- Salary: KSh 35,000 – 60,000 (based on experience)
- Bonus: None
- Transportation Allowance: Provided
- Days Off: Generally weekends (may require work during school events)
- Annual Leave: 21 days

Position Overview
The Nairobi Japanese School in Karen is seeking an experienced English teacher who can also teach Art for Grades 1–9 (Primary and Junior High School).
We are looking for candidates who can teach Japanese students with beginner-level English proficiency and adapt to the Japanese-style curriculum and school culture. Applicants with at least three years of teaching experience are preferred.
Required Qualifications (All must be met)
- Bachelor of Education (4-year university degree)
- Valid TSC registration (TSC number must be stated on CV)
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience
- Experience teaching beginner-level English to children
- Ability to teach both Art and English
- Ability to cooperate with and follow directions from Japanese teachers
- Adaptability to Japanese-style curriculum and school culture
- Strong sense of responsibility and discipline
- Certificate of Good Conduct
- Contact details of two referees
- Residing within one hour commuting distance to The Nairobi Japanese School (Karen)
- Ability to communicate in basic Japanese for everyday conversation

- Art-related awards or recognitions (including student awards)
