Teacher – International Curriculum

Location: Kiambu

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging and age-appropriate learning experiences within their area of specialization, while supporting the academic, personal and co-curricular development of learners.

Key Responsibilities

·       Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons appropriate to learners' age, ability and curriculum requirements.

·       Develop learners' knowledge, skills, creativity, confidence and independent learning abilities.

·       Use appropriate teaching strategies, resources and assessment methods to support learner progress.

·       Assess and monitor learner performance and provide constructive feedback.

·       Identify individual learner strengths, learning needs and areas requiring additional support.

·       Maintain appropriate records of learner progress and achievement.

·       Create a positive, inclusive and well-managed learning environment.

·       Support learners to develop discipline, responsibility, communication, collaboration and critical-thinking skills.

·       Participate in departmental, school-wide and co-curricular activities.

·       Support school events, performances, clubs, trips and other learner-development programmes where applicable.

·       Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and school leadership.

·       Contribute to curriculum planning, assessment and continuous improvement of teaching and learning.

·       Uphold the school's professional standards, safeguarding requirements and values.

Qualifications & Experience

English & Literature / History / CRE / Kiswahili

·       Bachelor of Education or relevant teaching qualification.

·       At least 3 years' teaching experience.

·       Demonstrated experience teaching within the Cambridge/IGCSE curriculum, particularly Key Stage 3 and/or Key Stage 4.

·       Strong subject knowledge in the relevant teaching area.

·       Ability to prepare learners for examinations while developing deeper understanding and transferable skills.

Key Stage 1 Teacher

·       Bachelor of Education or relevant teaching qualification.

·       At least 3 years' teaching experience.

·       Demonstrated experience teaching within the Cambridge Curriculum, particularly at Key Stage 1 level.

·       Strong understanding of primary learner development and age-appropriate teaching methodologies.

French Teacher

·       Relevant degree/diploma or teaching qualification in French, French Education or a related field.

·       At least 3 years' relevant teaching experience is preferred.

·       Experience teaching French within an international/Cambridge school environment will be an advantage.

·       Strong spoken and written French.

·       Ability to develop learners' listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.

Music Tutor

·       Relevant qualification in Music, Music Education or a related discipline.

·       At least 3 years' relevant teaching/tutoring experience is preferred.

·       Demonstrated experience working with children and young people.

·       Strong practical competence in at least one musical instrument.

·       Ability to develop both practical performance and basic music theory skills.

·       Experience preparing learners for concerts, recitals, assemblies or other performances is an advantage.
