Job Summary
We are a high-volume bakery and patisserie specializing in artisan pastries, breads, and celebration cakes. We are looking for a rainmaker—a salesperson who already lives and breathes the Nairobi F&B scene.
You are not a trainee. You must have existing relationships with hotel chefs, events planners, and cafe owners. We need someone who can hit the ground running and generate 10 times your salary in gross revenue from Day 1.
The 10X Expectation (The Non-Negotiable)
- The Math: If your monthly salary is KES 50,000, your monthly sales target is KES 500,000.
- The Timeline: You are expected to close your first wholesale account within the first 2 weeks.
- The Mindset: We pay for performance. You will be retained as long as you maintain the 10X ratio.
Key Responsibilities
1. B2B Wholesale Acquisition (The Core Role)
- Aggressively prospect and close Hotels, Airbnbs, High-end Cafes, Corporate canteens, and Event planners in Nairobi.
- Leverage your existing database to book bulk orders for pastries (croissants, muffins, danishes) and celebration cakes.
2. Revenue Growth
- Manage a portfolio of accounts to increase recurring weekly orders.
- Introduce "subscription models" for office breakfasts and hotel buffet pastries.
- Identify seasonal peaks (Easter, Christmas, Valentine’s) and upsell volume.
3. Operational Coordination
- Work directly with the Head Baker to ensure production meets your sales commitments.
- Handle delivery logistics coordination within Nairobi (from bakery to client).
4. Market Intelligence
- Report competitor pricing in Kilimani, Lavington, and Industrial Area.
- Identify gaps: e.g., which hotels are missing a good pain au chocolat?
Required Qualifications (Strict)
- Proven Experience: Must have 2+ years selling perishable FMCG (Food/Bakery/Dairy) in Nairobi.
- Existing Clientele: You must bring a list of at least 20 contacts in the Nairobi hospitality industry (chefs, procurement managers).
- Numeracy: Ability to calculate margins, discounts, and ROI on the fly.
- Transport: Must have a reliable motorcycle or car to visit clients across traffic-heavy Nairobi (e.g., Westlands to Imara Daima).
