About the Role
The Business Development Associate is a critical, results-oriented role responsible for driving pipeline growth, nurturing leads, managing marketing channels, and creating visibility and brand engagement for Magnolia Technology Solutions.
Success in this role requires mandatory, proven experience with Odoo ERP or a comparable ERP system. This deep product knowledge, ideally gained from a project implementation or a sales/marketing background, is essential for the associate to effectively:
- Conduct effective discovery calls.
- Quickly understand client pain points/gaps.
- Articulate the specific value and capabilities of Odoo ERP to potential clients.
Key Responsibilities
1. ERP Product Expertise & Sales Pipeline
- Leverage Odoo/ERP product knowledge during lead qualification and discovery calls to uncover client needs and propose high-level solutions.
- Follow up on inbound leads generated from digital ads, social media, and partnerships.
- Execute outbound lead generation activities including cold outreach via email, LinkedIn, and phone.
- Qualify leads and schedule discovery or demo calls with senior team members.
- Maintain and regularly update the CRM (Odoo) with accurate lead status.
- Stay up to date with product knowledge, including new features and upcoming releases (e.g., Odoo v19).
2. Marketing & Visibility
- Manage daily posting and engagement on Magnolia’s LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram platforms.
- Schedule and post updates on LinkedIn targeting corporate buyers.
- Monitor and optimize Google Ads campaigns with guidance from the Head of Business Development.
- Ensure regular blog updates, utilizing premium writing tools as necessary.
3. Partnerships & Events
- Coordinate with KEPSA and other industry bodies to identify relevant events, webinars, and marketing initiatives.
- Explore additional partnerships (e.g., Kenya Association of Manufacturers, media outlets, trade groups).
- Support webinar coordination and outreach.
Essential Qualifications
- Mandatory ERP Experience: Proven experience with Odoo ERP or a comparable ERP system (e.g., SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, Zoho) is required.
- Background: Experience must come from either a Project Implementation or a Technical Sales/Marketing background where product knowledge was integral to client engagement.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical value to non-technical business decision-makers.
- Tools: Familiarity with CRM systems (Odoo is a plus), and digital marketing platforms (LinkedIn, Google Ads).
