Electrical Technician – Power Generation Systems

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, commission, and test diesel generator sets and associated electrical systems.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair generator electrical faults and automatic transfer/changeover systems.
• Program, configure, and calibrate generator controllers and monitoring systems from various manufacturers.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on generators, control panels, and related electrical equipment.
• Conduct electrical inspections, testing, and fault-finding to ensure reliable system performance.
• Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Prepare maintenance reports and maintain accurate service records.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable safety standards and company procedures.

Requirements:

• Diploma, Certificate, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Installation, or a related field.
• Proven experience in the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of diesel generators.
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose and rectify generator, controller, and changeover switch faults.
• Experience programming and configuring generator controllers from various manufacturers.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, control circuits, and power distribution equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively as part of a team.
• High standards of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail.
