Head of collection
Job summary
We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Head of Collections to lead and manage the organization’s debt recovery and collections function. The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of experience in microfinance, with previous hands-on experience as a Branch Manager and Collection Officer.
Job descriptions & requirements
Develop and implement effective debt collection and recovery strategies.
Supervise and guide the collections team to achieve recovery targets.
Monitor overdue accounts and ensure timely follow-up on repayments.
Review loan portfolios and identify high-risk accounts.
Prepare regular reports on collections performance, arrears, and recovery progress.
Ensure compliance with company credit policies and regulatory requirements.
Train, mentor, and motivate collection officers and branch staff.
Liaise with clients to negotiate repayment plans and resolve payment issues.
Work closely with branch managers, credit officers, and legal teams on recovery matters.
Recommend accounts for legal action where necessary.
Maintain accurate records of all collection activities and client engagements.
Support management in improving credit control systems and reducing portfolio risk.
