Job Summary
The Assistant Accountant is responsible for supporting the finance function by managing accounts receivable processes, including timely and accurate client invoicing, payment processing, recording incoming payments, following up on outstanding receivables, and preparing monthly cash flow projections. The role also supports financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and internal control processes to ensure efficient financial operations.

Key Responsibilities
● Maintain customer accounts and follow up on outstanding payments to ensure timely collections.
● Prepare and issue accurate and timely invoices to customers.
● Post and reconcile customer invoices, maintain up-to-date accounts receivable records, and support prompt collection of outstanding balances.
● Gather accurate cost data to facilitate correct billing for warehouse and other customer services.
● Support the development and implementation of cost reduction and risk mitigation initiatives.
● Assist in monitoring and managing the organizations' budget.
● Ensure financial transactions comply with organizational policies, statutory requirements, and applicable regulations.
● Support the Finance Lead in implementing and maintaining effective internal controls to safeguard organizational assets.
● Assist in identifying financial and operational risks and collaborate with relevant departments to develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
● Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal departments and customers to ensure efficient service delivery.
● Prepare and submit accurate and timely financial and management reports as required.
● Encourage teamwork by listening to colleagues' ideas, recognizing achievements, providing constructive feedback, and supporting staff development.
● Participate in onboarding activities to help new employees integrate successfully into the organization.
● Support the Finance Lead by providing financial analysis and recommendations to inform investment and business decisions.
● Accurately file, update, and maintain financial records and organizational documentation.
● Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements
● Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
● Minimum of two (2) years relevant accounting or finance experience.
● CPA Part II (or equivalent professional accounting qualification) required.
● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
● High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
● Good customer service, communication, and reporting skills.
● Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems is an added advantage.
