Fides Kenya Ltd, part of Dummen Orange, is a leading company in growers and exporters of fresh cut flowers from Kenya to international markets. Fides Kenya operates under the trade name Dummen Orange. At present Fides Kenya Limited operates on 22 hectares where the Chrysanthemums, Geranium, Perennials, Osteospermum, Asters and filler plants cuttings are grown. Our workforce has grown over the years to the current level of about 1000 employees. We are located 29 km south-east of Embu town and 169 km north-east of Nairobi, approximately 50 km south of Mount Kenya.

JOB SUMMARY

We’re looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Housekeeping and Catering Steward to maintain high standards of cleanliness, comfort, and presentation within our residence. The role involves housekeeping, laundry, and meal preparation, as well as ensuring a welcoming, well-managed home environment. Occasionally, you may also support the Guest House, Restaurant, or other residences. This role requires integrity, diligence, and a strong sense of responsibility in maintaining a professional and pleasant living environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Residence Care & HousekeepingMaintain overall cleanliness and order across living spaces - bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, and shared areas.Make beds, change linens, and ensure rooms are refreshed daily.Handle laundry, ironing, folding, and organization of clothing and linens.Perform deep cleaning and seasonal reorganization as needed.Meal Preparation & Kitchen HygienePrepare balanced, nutritious meals according to household preferences.Maintain kitchen cleanliness, proper food storage, and hygiene.Wash and organize dishes, cookware, and utensils.Manage grocery lists, shopping, and efficient use of kitchen supplies.Childcare & Family SupportProvide responsible and caring supervision of children when required.Support children’s routines (meals, rest, hygiene, and play).Ensure a safe, nurturing, and clean environment for the family.Inventory, Safety & MaintenanceMonitor household supplies and equipment, ensuring proper use and maintenance.Keep track of consumables and assist with restocking.Follow all safety, hygiene, and security protocols.Report any maintenance or safety concerns promptly.Guest SupportAssist with hosting visitors or family guests.Maintain high presentation standards for guest rooms and shared spaces.Occasionally support Guest House or Restaurant operations when required.Qualifications Certificate in Housekeeping, Catering, or Hospitality (required).1 to 2 years of experience in a residential or hospitality setting.Strong understanding of cleaning standards, hygiene, and food safety.Basic cooking skills and ability to plan simple, nutritious meals.Excellent organization, time management, and communication skills.
