Reporting to: Finance, Administration & HR Manager
Employer: Dynamic start-up in the Renewable Energy sector
Location: Nairobi, Kenya – Full time (local travel as/when required)
Duration: Initial 3-month Probation with Permanent contract based on satisfactory performance

Job Summary

Role Duties & Responsibilities

Human Resource Function

•    Assisting in recruitment, selection, new employee onboarding
•    Organize and maintain employee records (leave, benefits, vacation)
•    Prepare HR documents such as employee contracts and guides
•    Update job requirements and descriptions for all positions
•    Update and maintain company policies and procedures
•    Ensure employee payroll data is up to date and statutory requirements are met
•    Assist with employee performance management
•    Analyse and communicate employee training needs
•    Ensure employee health, safety and welfare
•    Implementing and communicating disciplinary procedures and dealing with employee grievances
•    Overseeing employee exit requirements
•    Perform any other duties assigned by management

Administration Function
•    Office Management: Welcome visitors, Coordinate company meetings and events, facility, Facility and Office supplies sourcing
•    Travel: Arrange and schedule for all employee travel logistics and accommodation
•    Correspondence: Handle in-coming and out-going company communication
•    Payments: Enter payments for approval, Manage petty-cash payments
•    Accounting: Pre-accounting work and documents filing
•    Legal: Prepare contracts for review and documents for signature
•    Ensure efficient use of company assets and resources and their security
•    Ensure timely reports on incidences within the company
•    Provide administrative support where needed
•    Perform any other duties assigned by management

Qualification, Skills and Experience
Minimum qualification: Diploma with related professional certificates or Degree in Human Resource Management/Business Management/ Business Administration or equivalent

Experience level: Entry-level

Preferred Experience:

•    2-5 years of relevant experience to the role in a busy HR and Administration department
•    Exposure and understanding of Kenyan Labour Laws
