Job Title: Interior Designer
Location: Nairobi, Kenya
Salary: Ksh 40,000 – 60,000 (Gross)
Key Responsibilities
Client & Design Management
* Serve as the main contact for clients, interpreting needs and project briefs.
* Collaborate with the project management team to develop/refine designs.
* Prepare detailed drawings and presentations for client approval.
Production & Planning
* Interpret architectural/interior drawings to prepare cutting lists and requisitions.
* Supervise carpenters and technicians in joinery and fabrication.
* Plan and schedule workflow to meet deadlines effectively.
Quality Control & Workshop Management
* Implement and monitor quality standards throughout fabrication.
* Inspect work in progress and finished items for compliance.
* Oversee maintenance and safety of workshop machinery/equipment.
* Manage tools, inventory, and ensure a safe, organized workshop environment.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Minimum 3 years’ supervisory experience in a busy joinery workshop.
* Diploma/Degree in Interior Design or related field.
* Working knowledge of design software & cutting list software (e.g., Optimizer).
* Proficiency in reading/interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
* Strong knowledge of joinery techniques, materials, and machinery.
* Proven leadership, communication, and team management skills.
* Detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving and quality control focus.
