Job Summary:

The Operations Director at Delta Engineering & Consultants Ltd is responsible for overseeing the company’s daily operations, including maintenance & engineering, workplace safety, and material management.

This role ensures operational efficiency, adherence to safety regulations, and optimal resource utilization to achieve business objectives.

The Operations Director will develop and implement strategies to improve productivity, enhance service delivery, and maintain compliance with industry regulations.

The role reports directly to the CEO and collaborates with cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence.

 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operational Management

· Oversee and optimize daily business operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.

· Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with company goals.

· Identify and mitigate operational risks to maintain seamless service delivery.

· Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.

2. Maintenance & Engineering

· Oversee the maintenance of solar and lift installations, ensuring peak performance and longevity.

· Implement preventative maintenance programs to reduce downtime and operational disruptions.

· Lead engineering teams in innovation and continuous improvement of products and services.

· Monitor and analyze equipment performance metrics to ensure operational reliability.

Engineering & Technical Oversight

· Provide technical leadership for solar and lift installation projects.

· Ensure continuous improvement in engineering processes and methodologies.

· Oversee research and development efforts for new technologies and innovative solutions.

· Drive initiatives to improve the quality, reliability, and efficiency of installations.

 

3. Workplace Safety & Compliance

· Develop and enforce health and safety policies in line with local regulations and industry standards.

· Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and compliance checks.

· Implement training programs to promote a culture of workplace safety.

· Investigate incidents and establish corrective measures to prevent recurrence.

4. Material Management & Supply Chain

· Optimize material procurement, inventory management, and logistics to ensure efficiency.

· Develop supplier relationships to enhance cost-effectiveness and quality control.

· Monitor material usage and waste to improve sustainability and cost efficiency.

· Implement digital tracking systems for better material and inventory management.

5. Team Leadership & Development

· Lead and mentor operational teams, fostering a high-performance culture.

· Establish performance objectives, conduct reviews, and implement training programs.

· Ensure effective cross-departmental communication and collaboration.

· Drive employee engagement initiatives to enhance productivity and job satisfaction.

6. Financial & Performance Management

· Manage operational budgets, ensuring cost control and financial efficiency.

· Monitor key performance metrics and adjust strategies to meet financial targets.

· Provide detailed operational reports to the CEO and stakeholders.

· Identify opportunities for cost savings, revenue generation, and process improvements.

2. Improve Maintenance & Engineering Standards

· Reduce breakdown rates and increase system reliability.

· Maintain an average of 100% uptime for all installed solar and lift systems.

· Reduce emergency maintenance requests by 20% through preventative maintenance.

3. Strengthen Workplace Safety Compliance

· Enhance safety culture and regulatory compliance.

· Achieve zero workplace accidents/incidents in the next 12 months.

· Conduct quarterly safety training sessions for all employees.

4. Optimize Material Management & Supply Chain

· Reduce procurement costs and enhance inventory control.

· Eliminate material wastage to zero % through optimized inventory tracking.

· Reduce procurement lead time by 20% by building stronger supplier relationships.

5. Develop and Retain High-Performing Teams

· Improve workforce capability and engagement.

· Increase employee satisfaction scores 100% through structured development programs.

Qualifications & Experience:

· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.

· Minimum of 6-10 years of experience in operations management, preferably in the solar or lift installation industry.

· Strong leadership, strategic planning, and decision-making skills.

· Proven experience in process improvement, financial management, and compliance enforcement.

· Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

· Knowledge of safety regulations, engineering principles, and material management best practices.
