Job Location:  In Suswa, Kajiado West

About Soila Maasai Girls:

Soila Maasai Girls Centre in Suswa was established in 2005 to provide refuge and Education for Maasai Girls at risk of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and early arranged marriage.

Duties and Responsibility for the Role

    • Acting in the absence of the Head Teacher

    • Support the Head Teacher in the day-to-day management of the school/ centre.

    • Organizing and overseeing co-curricular activities including school clubs, trips, visits and Music and Drama Festivals

    • Overseeing School discipline serving as the Discipline Committee chair

    • Moderating major school events, such as Prize giving, Sports Days and Prayers days.

    • Management of budgets within

    • Checking of registers

    • Curriculum delivery

    • Teaching several subjects

    • Liaising with teachers in handling disciplineCustomer Care and Public relations

    • Lead on teaching and learning throughout the school, overseeing the curriculum lead

    • Ensure high standards in teaching through coaching, and acting like a role model

    • Take a leading role in the care of pupils, including behaviour management, child protection and safeguarding·       

    • Instil and encourage correct social and moral values that are aligned with biblical teaching and school ethos.

    • Always ensure the safety of the students.

    • Any other duty assigned by the School Management

Qualifications and Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Education

    • Holder of P1(PTE certificate) is an added advantage

    • Valid TSC Certificate

    • Two to three (2-3) years proven work experience

    • Exposure in the Competency Based Education (CBE)

    • English and Literature preferred as teaching subjects. 

    • Good Computer Skills,  MS Office and Databases
