Job Summary


The Sr Director of Global Human Resources is both a strategic and hands-on leader responsible for delivering comprehensive HR support across GivePower’s international workforce. With over 70% of GivePower’s 130 employees based outside of the United States, this role plays a critical part in shaping an inclusive, mission-driven culture while ensuring full compliance with global HR standards.


This position will collaborate frequently with fun, passionate, and dynamic team members in the US, Kenya, Haiti, Tanzania, Mexico and Colombia. Though previous work in these specific countries is not required, candidates must bring demonstrated experience leading HR functions across multiple countries and a strong ability to collaborate effectively across cultures, languages and time zones. Through the design and execution of key people initiatives, this role enables employees worldwide to thrive while protecting the organization’s values and operational integrity.


Duties and responsibilities

  • Talent Acquisition and Management: Leads global recruitment using scalable, repeatable processes tailored for international and country-specific contexts. Overseas job description development, posting strategies, interviewing, workforce planning and training and development, ensuring approaches are culturally informed and effective across all regions.
  • Positive Culture and Engagement: Champions a mission- and values-driven culture across multiple countries. Designs programs and tools that foster belonging, collaboration and cross-cultural understanding from onboarding onward.
  • Compliance: Partners with a variety of local HR advisors and legal advisors to ensure adherence to all local labor laws and HR best practices. Values and maintains meticulous documentation, communicates and monitors compliance requirements with relevant team members and resolves gaps quickly.
  • Compensation Management: Conducts research, provides reports and recommendations that support fair compensation strategies. Coordinates with local accounting resources to ensure the timely and accurate preparation of payroll, statutory remittances and compliance with country-specific payroll laws
  • Benefits Program: Researches and proposes benefits solutions aligned with local needs, context and cultural expectations. Supports benefits administration across all regions.
  • Employee Relations: Provides culturally attuned guidance on HR policies, performance issues, documentation and conflict resolution. Works closely with management and team members to support strong working relationships, morale, productivity and retention globally.
  • Administrative: Oversees HR information systems to ensure data integrity. Prepares and presents monthly global HR metrics to senior management.
  • Leadership: Understands the needs of the business. Builds trust and strong and sustains collaborative relationships across diverse teams. Advises leaders on organizational structure, workforce planning and the scalability of HR systems for rapid growth. Ensure HR strategies align with current needs and future expansion.

Qualifications and requirements

  1. Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills in English (Swahili, Spanish, and/or French, a plus)
  2. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
  3. Minimum 7 years’ experience working in a Human Resources role managing others
  4. Minimum 3 years’ experience in working in a multi-national organization supporting a multinational or global workforce, ideally with exposure to East Africa
  5. Strong background in developing and implementing HR strategy, including talent planning, organizational design, policy development and legal compliance across borders
  6. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office and HRIS platforms
  7. Ability to work under pressure, managing competing priorities and make informed decisions or escalate appropriately.


Targeted salary based on experience and qualifications: 650,000 - 700,000 KES/month
