Job Description/Requirements
We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations within the accounting department. Your primary responsibilities will involve assisting with various financial tasks, reconciling accounts, preparing reports, and providing support to the senior accountants.
Responsibilities:
● Assist in the preparation and processing of financial documents, such as invoices, expense reports, and purchase orders.
● Maintain and update financial records, ensuring accuracy and completeness of data.
● Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable on a regular basis.
● Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets.
● Assist with the management of petty cash and employee expense reimbursements.
● Support the senior accountants in conducting audits and financial analysis.
● Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve any payment discrepancies or issues.
● Assist in the preparation and filing of tax returns and other compliance-related documents.
● Monitor and track inventory levels, as well as assist with inventory reconciliations.
● Provide general administrative support to the finance team, including filing, data entry, and maintaining financial records.
Requirements:
● A degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
● Proven experience as an Accounts Assistant or similar role.
● Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and procedures.
● Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
● Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial record keeping.
● Excellent organisational and time management skills.
● Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
● Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
● Prior experience in handling confidential financial information with integrity.
