Job Title: Assistant Accountant

We are a leading restaurant in Nairobi looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our Accounts team. 

Job Description: 

The Assistant Accountant will support the finance department by performing various accounting and financial tasks. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties: 

Key Responsibilities: 

✓ Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial statements as well as  Process monthly/weekly accounting reports 

✓ Review and disbursement of authorized petty cash requests and Replenishment of petty cash ✓ Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions. 

✓ Ensure timely and accurate processing of payments and invoices. 

✓ Assist with the preparation of financial forecasts. 

✓ Assist in the preparation of tax returns and other statutory filings. 

✓ Assist in the management of daily cash flow and cashier’s audits 

✓ Provide support during the auditing process. 

✓ Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. 

✓ Carry out any other relevant duty as assigned by the immediate director or manager

Qualifications: 

✓ Diploma in Accounting or Finance. CPA is an added advantage 

✓ At least 2 years of relevant work experience. Hospitality industry is an added advantage. ✓ Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices. 

✓ Proficient in the use of accounting software, preferably QuickBooks (Sage & pastel) ✓ Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. 

✓ Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. 

✓ Attention to detail and accuracy. 

✓ Good interpersonal skills and High-stress tolerance 

✓ Quality and details orientated 

✓ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
