Job summary
Mawingu HR Solutions is recruiting on behalf of a client in the property space — a growing technology company offering a cloud-based property management software platform built for the realities of the Kenyan market. The platform helps landlords, property managers, and real estate companies manage their portfolios with ease, and the business is now entering an exciting phase of commercial growth. The Business Development Associate will drive adoption of the client’s property management platform by acquiring landlords, property managers, and real estate companies; conducting compelling product demonstrations; onboarding new clients; and ensuring long-term customer success, satisfaction, and retention. The role sits at the junction of sales, client success, and product adoption — the successful candidate will be the face of the platform to the market.

Remuneration: KES 40,000 – 50,000 gross per month, plus performance-based commission
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Development & Sales
- Identify and generate leads from landlords, property managers, estate agents, SACCOs, and real estate developers.
- Schedule and conduct software demonstrations, both online and in person.
- Clearly articulate the platform’s features, benefits, and pricing to potential clients.
- Convert prospects into paying customers and consistently grow monthly recurring revenue.
- Represent the client at industry events, exhibitions, and networking forums.
Client Onboarding & Training
- Assist new clients in setting up their accounts on the platform.
- Train landlords and property managers on effective use of the system.
- Support data migration from spreadsheets and legacy systems.
- Follow up on onboarding progress to ensure a smooth, confident start for every client.
Customer Success & Retention
- Build and nurture lasting relationships with existing customers.
- Upsell additional services and modules to grow account value.
- Monitor customer feedback and recommend product improvements to the team.
- Maintain accurate CRM records and prepare regular sales pipeline reports.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Education & Professional Background
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales & Marketing, Commerce, Real Estate, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 1–3 years’ experience in B2B sales, business development, account management, or a customer-facing commercial role.
- Experience selling SaaS, software, or technology products is a strong advantage.
- A demonstrable track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets — shortlisted candidates will be asked to evidence this.
Technical & Commercial Skills
- Confident delivering persuasive product demonstrations, both online and face-to-face.
- Consultative selling and negotiation skills, with the ability to translate product features into clear client value.
- Working knowledge of CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot, Zoho, Salesforce) and disciplined pipeline management.
- Comfortable with software platforms, spreadsheets, and basic data handling to support client onboarding and data migration.
- Ability to train and support non-technical users with patience and clarity.
Sector Knowledge (Added Advantage)
- Familiarity with property management operations, real estate agencies, letting practices, or SACCO environments in Kenya.
- An existing network among landlords, property managers, or estate agents in Nairobi.
Personal Attributes
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in both English and Kiswahili.
- Self-driven, target-oriented, and resilient through longer B2B sales cycles.
- Well-organised, with the discipline to manage a pipeline and follow-ups independently.
- High integrity and professionalism, befitting a client-facing ambassador of the brand.

- Number of new landlords and property managers onboarded per month.
- Monthly recurring revenue generated.
