Job descriptions & requirements

About the Company

Maple Leaf Educonnect (MLEC) partners with reputable public higher education institutions globally to deliver in-market student recruitment, representation, and strategic growth support.

We do not operate as a typical agency. For many of our partners, we function as their regional International Office in Africa, entrusted with brand reputation, market development, and student outcomes.

Our partners expect global standards. Our team delivers them. We are selective about who represents our institutions.

About the Role

This opportunity is for a top-tier Student Recruitment Manager based in Kenya representing a leading Canadian Public Higher Education Institution across East Africa.

We are looking for recruiters who already perform at an international level — professionals who combine discipline, credibility, and commercial awareness with a genuine commitment to student success.

This role is suited for individuals who:

  • Consistently exceed recruitment targets
  • Build trust quickly with partners and students
  • Operate independently without constant supervision
  • Uphold institutional reputation at all times
  • Treat recruitment as a long-term profession, not a short-term job

If you are looking for a routine admissions role, this is not it. If you want to operate at global standards and be measured accordingly, read on.

Responsibilities

  • Own recruitment performance across assigned East African markets
  • Deliver high-quality, consultative counselling aligned to Canadian standards
  • Identify and onboard high-calibre recruitment agencies
  • Actively manage and elevate agent performance
  • Build relationships with counsellors at top private & international schools
  • Represent the institution at premium recruitment events and school visits
  • Support and coordinate official visits from Canadian partners
  • Provide sharp market intelligence and performance reporting
  • Contribute to regional strategy, not just execution
  • Maintain professional discipline in follow-ups, data tracking, and conversions

Who Typically Succeeds in This Role

  • 5+ years in international student recruitment with measurable results
  • Strong commercial mindset and accountability
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • High ownership mentality
  • Willingness to travel regionally
  • Deep familiarity with the African education landscape is a plus

Application Note

We review applications selectively.
Only candidates demonstrating strong recruitment results and professionalism will be contacted.
