procurement teams streamline their payment workflows and gain real-time visibility into spend.
Role Purpose
ActivEdge Technologies is seeking a high-calibre Business Development & Sales Manager to spearhead the
commercial growth of PayEdge across key African markets. This is a field-intensive, revenue-owning role at the
intersection of enterprise sales, financial institution engagement, and supply chain finance, requiring someone
who combines strategic market development with boots-on-the-ground deal-closing tenacity.
The successful candidate will be the primary growth engine for PayEdge, identifying, engaging, and converting
financial institutions, banks, corporate buyers, and supply chain stakeholders into paying clients and long-term
partners. You will be required to build a relationship of trust with new customers and position yourself as a
thought leader in Financial Supply Chain financing.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Revenue Generation
● Drive end-to-end enterprise sales of the PayEdge supply chain financing platform to financial institutions, banks, corporate buyers, procurement teams, and large enterprises.
● Lead the full sales cycle: prospecting, cold outreach, qualification, product demonstrations, proposals, price and terms negotiation, contract signing, and onboarding handover.
● Develop and execute strategic territory plans to meet and exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets
● Build, manage, and convert a robust pipeline of opportunities with consistent CRM logging and real-time status tracking.
● Customize and submit compelling pitches and proposals tailored to the specific needs of each target institution or buyer segment.
● Secure signed MoUs, LOIs, and commercial agreements, progressing relationships from prospect to active revenue.
Business Development & Partnerships
● Identify and pursue new business opportunities including partnerships, strategic alliances, and institutional collaborations that expand PayEdge's market footprint.
● Build and maintain strong relationships with C-suite and senior decision-makers, CFOs, Heads of Treasury, Chief Procurement Officers, and Heads of Supply Chain, across financial services, FMCG, manufacturing, retail, and the public sector.
● Organize and lead strategic partner events such as workshops, roadshows, trade fairs, and roundtables to expand market visibility and foster institutional engagement.
● Represent PayEdge at industry forums, policy platforms, and financial sector conferences.
● Engage research and ecosystem partners to collect market insights and optimize product-market fit.
Market Strategy & Intelligence
● Develop and execute strategic plans to drive business growth and achieve market penetration targets.
● Conduct ongoing competitor research, market analysis, and customer segmentation to identify differentiated positioning opportunities for PayEdge.
● Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory developments, and competitive landscape dynamics to inform business strategies and product roadmap feedback.
● Translate technical product features into compelling business value propositions tailored to financial institution and corporate buyer decision criteria.
Pilot & Account Management
● Scope, prepare, and coordinate the activation of pilot programs with committed partner institutions.
● Manage post-signature onboarding and early-stage account health to ensure successful pilot conversion to full commercial deployments.
● Support revenue operations activities to realize pipeline and commercial conversion goals.
● Collaborate with cross-functional teams, product, marketing, customer success, and technology, to ensure client satisfaction and product adoption.
Reporting & Performance Management
● Provide weekly and monthly pipeline reports, activity summaries, and market insights to senior management.
● Maintain 100% CRM compliance, all leads, demos, site visits, engagements, and agreements tracked in real time.
● Deliver regular performance reviews against KPIs and contribute to business planning cycles.

Qualifications & Requirements
Education
● Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, Economics, or related STEM fields.
● MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is a strong advantage.
Experience
● Minimum 5–7 years of proven business development and enterprise sales experience within FinTech, banking, financial services, or supply chain finance.
● At least 3 years of direct experience selling to or partnering with financial institutions (commercial banks, development finance institutions, microfinance banks, SACCOs, or similar).
● Demonstrated track record of independently closing high-value B2B deals, including multi-stakeholder enterprise sales.
● Prior experience managing pilots, commercial agreements (MoUs/LOIs), and onboarding processes with institutional clients.
Competencies
● Strong, proven sales acumen including cold calling, consultative sales meetings, price negotiation, objection handling, and relationship management
● Deep understanding of the full B2B enterprise sales cycle from initial discovery through signed contract and post-sales success
● Ability to navigate complex multi-stakeholder environments and secure buy-in from technical, financial, and executive decision-makers
● Comfortable preparing and delivering polished, tailored product demos and pitch presentations both virtually and on-site
● Strong understanding of supply chain financing, trade finance, vendor financing, and B2B payment workflows
● Familiarity with financial products, services, and regulatory frameworks relevant to East and West African markets
● Understanding of enterprise financial workflows including accounts payable/receivable, procurement, treasury, and spend management
● Awareness of emerging digital finance technologies including API-driven platforms, cloud infrastructure, mobile payments, and data analytics
● Established network of C-level and senior executive relationships within financial services, FMCG, retail, manufacturing, oil & gas, and public sector
● Ability to leverage existing relationships for warm introductions and accelerated deal cycles
● Experience engaging ecosystem stakeholders such as regulatory bodies, industry associations, and development finance organizations
● Strategic thinker with ability to translate high-level vision into executable go-to-market actions
