Ultimately, a top-class credit Analyst can maximize company profits by efficiently managing its debts.
Job Description
- Analyze and assess the financial statements and credit history of existing and potential clients.
- Handle questions or complaints.
- Review credit applications and perform credit checks.
- Structure deals and perform risk assessments.
- Ability to make informed decisions backed by sound assessment.
- Consult and negotiate with clients regarding financial transactions, payment terms, and credit limits.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and submit applications on time.
- Understanding of business, economic, and industry risk.
- Financial forecasting.
- Keep abreast of financial news and trends.
- Practice due diligence.
- Alert superiors of debtors unwilling or unable to pay when necessary.
- Ensure credit limits are adhered to as per regulations existing at the time.
- Proactive monitoring of the credit portfolio to ensure early detection of problem credits.
- Provide and analyze financial information for use in the preparation of credit reports
- Assist in the financial evaluation of new business/projects and provide a guide on market risk.
- Counter check that interest rates are correctly applied on all Credit facilities
- Consulting with the collections departments on incorporating suggestions and necessary changes as observed in customer loan repayment history
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or other business-related fields
- 2+ years of strong quantitative experience
- Must have relevant experience in debt collection management.
- Excellent verbal communication and active listening skills.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Persistent & goal-oriented.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and time-management skills.
- Attention to detail
- Prior experience in financial industry is a plus
- Impeccable understanding of financial literacy - statements, ratios, and concepts
