Job Summary
Our client in the manufacturing industry is seeking to hire a Credit Controller. The Credit Controller will be responsible for managing and controlling the credit and debt collection process, ensuring timely payment of outstanding invoices, and minimizing credit risks for the business.

Job Description/Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Account Management: Update and track customer accounts as per the agreed terms of trade.
- Credit Assessment: Assess the creditworthiness of potential and existing customers by analyzing financial statements, credit reports, and payment history.
- Credit Limits: Establish and periodically review credit limits for customers based on their credit risk profiles.
- Reconciliation and Ageing Analysis: Perform periodic debtors reconciliation and ageing analysis to ensure accuracy in accounts.
- Collaboration with Inventory Accountant: Work with the inventory accountant to reconcile finished goods and ensure all sales are accurately recorded and invoiced.
- Monitor Accounts Receivable: Monitor accounts receivable ageing reports to identify overdue accounts and prioritize collection efforts.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to financial regulations and internal policies regarding credit and collections.
- Debt Collection: Implement effective debt collection strategies, maintaining communication with customers to resolve payment issues.
- Financial Analysis: Analyse financial statements and payment behaviours to identify trends and potential risks in customer accounts.
- Payment Plans: Develop and negotiate payment plans with customers experiencing financial difficulties to ensure recovery of outstanding debts.
- Reporting: Prepare regular reports on ageing accounts, overdue invoices, and collection efforts to provide management insights.
- Customer Relations: Build and maintain professional relationships with clients to enhance communication and encourage timely payments.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the sales and finance teams to align on customer accounts and improve collection strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Must have worked in a FMCG Industry in a similar role for a minimum of 5 Years.
- Minimum 5 Years’ experience in Credit Control.
Skills required
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy.
- Legal knowledge related to debt recovery and collections.
- Knowledge of contract terms and conditions to ensure compliance and enforce credit policies.
- Strategic thinking and planning.
- Good understanding of customer payment behavior and patterns to predict potential issues.
- Develop and negotiate payment plans with customers facing financial difficulties.
- Team work in order to be able to use commercial team to collect debt.
