Job Description/Requirements

Key Responsibilities:
➢ Reviewing and identifying accounts in early arrears and recommending the best plan of action for resolution.
➢ Ensuring allocated accounts are monitored daily and appropriate actions are taken to ensure that the collection portfolio remains within acceptable limits through the application of sound credit judgement within the company’s credit policy guidelines
➢ Work with partnered Loan Officer and conduct proper pre-approval due diligence and KYC to ensure that a customer is a viable customer.
➢ Work with partnered Loans Officer to serve customers by a relationship management approach, ensuring that the customer understands all the loan conditions and attendant consequences, gather intel and create and maintain relationships.
➢ Negotiating suitable payment plans
➢ Investigate and resolve any customer queries and complaints through verbal and/or written correspondence.
➢ Coordinating with external service providers e.g., auctioneers on the recovery process for assigned accounts.
➢ Issue out demand letters at field level to defaulters with the aim to get payments back to normalcy.
➢ Obtain new commitment to repay the debt (PTPs), determine if the debt can be collected, and accordingly recommend/initiate the recovery process.
➢ Conduct weekly and monthly reporting as per portfolio performance on delinquency
➢ Identify, document and escalate deceased or disabled customers for review or collection termination.
➢ Achieve the monthly collection targets as assigned by the supervisor.
➢ Contact defaulting customers either by calling or visiting them with an aim of negotiating a settlement of the arrears.
➢ Be accountable for reducing delinquency for assigned accounts
➢ Flag, document and highlight incidences that reflect heightened risk profiles and non-adherence to loans covenants such as early business deterioration signs, significant events at the borrowers’ businesses that could impact repayment.
➢ Performing such other tasks and duties as the Company may from time to time designate as forming part of this job description
