Film and Theatre Teacher

Job Purpose
Talent Grid Africa, on behalf of our esteemed client is seeking a driven and personable Film and Theatre
Teacher. Our client is seeking a dedicated, diligent, and experienced Film and Theatre Teacher to join our
team at our Machakos campus. As a subject teacher, you are primarily responsible for delivering in-depth
knowledge of your specific subject or learning area, planning and delivering engaging practical lessons,
assessing student learning through various methods, providing constructive feedback, monitoring student progress, managing classroom behavior, maintaining accurate student records, communicating with parents,
and participating in professional development activities.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop practical and engaging lesson plans aligned with the Film and Theatre curriculum, sequence
content, and design appropriate assessments.
• Deliver lessons using a variety of methods, including practical exercises, inquiry-based learning,
digital tools, discussions, demonstrations, and group activities.
• Assess student learning through exams, quizzes, projects, presentations, and observations, providing
constructive feedback.
• Prepare workshops and practical lessons for individual or group activities, including short-term and
long-term projects.
• Maintain a positive learning environment, manage classroom behavior, and address disciplinary
issues professionally.
• Monitor individual student progress, identify areas of need, and provide targeted interventions.
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding student performance through reports, conferences, or
other appropriate channels.
• Maintain accurate student records, including attendance and progress reports.
• Collaborate with colleagues through team teaching, sharing best practices, and contributing to
curriculum development.
• Participate in professional development activities, such as workshops, conferences, and training
sessions, to stay updated on teaching practices and subject knowledge.
• Foster critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and active student engagement in lessons.
• Undertake any other professional responsibilities as assigned by management or your immediate
supervisor, depending on school needs, your qualifications, or your work station.

Qualifications
• A Bachelor's degree in Education specializing in Theatre and Film Or A Bachelor's degree in a
Theatre and Film from a recognized institution with a post graduate diploma in Education.
• Result self-driven lady/gentleman
• Familiarity with modern teaching approaches and a strong ability to use technology are beneficial.
• TSC-registered or portal-proof of registration in progress
• Knowledge of CBE is an added advantage
• Digital/Computer skills are key
• Ability to meet deadlines and work without supervision
• Strong knowledge of the Kenyan curriculum, especially the CBE, is essential
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are important.
• Experience with extra-curricular activities can be an added advantage.
