Job Description/Requirements
Location: Happyland Senior School, Kiserian

Reports To: Head of Languages Department / School Principal
Job Purpose:
To deliver high-quality French language instruction in line with the curriculum, inspire students to appreciate French language and culture, and prepare candidates effectively for KCSE examinations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and deliver engaging French lessons aligned with the 8-4-4 syllabus for Forms 1–4.
• Prepare schemes of work, lesson plans, and assessment tools in accordingly.
• Assess students’ performance regularly and maintain accurate records of academic progress.
• Prepare candidates thoroughly for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) in French.
• Organize and support French language clubs and co-curricular activities to enhance practical learning.
• Promote French culture and intercultural understanding within the school community.
• Attend departmental and staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and school functions.
• Provide remedial support and mentorship to learners as needed.
• Ensure classroom management and maintain discipline in line with school policies.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Education (French) or Bachelor of Arts with French.
• Registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
• Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in a high school offering the 8-4-4 curriculum.
• Proven track record in preparing candidates for KCSE French examinations.
Skills and Competencies:
• Excellent command of written and spoken French and English.
• Strong instructional and classroom management skills.
• Ability to motivate and engage students with diverse learning needs.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of current trends in language education and digital teaching tools is an added advantage.
