Role Overview
Lubarisho LTD is seeking a highly experienced and dynamic General Manager to oversee the full operations of Olzadia Boutique Hotel in Zanzibar. This role requires a hands-on leader capable of driving operational excellence, enhancing guest experience, and ensuring strong financial and commercial performance in a boutique hospitality setting.
The ideal candidate must be results-driven, adaptable, and capable of managing a multi-functional team while maintaining high service standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Management
• Oversee day-to-day hotel operations across Front Office, Housekeeping, and Food & Beverage
• Ensure seamless coordination between departments to deliver exceptional guest experiences
• Maintain high service standards in line with boutique hospitality expectations
2. Financial & Commercial Management
• Manage budgeting, cost control, and overall financial performance (P&L)
• Implement revenue optimization strategies across all channels
• Monitor and improve occupancy, ADR, and overall profitability
3. Revenue & Systems Management
• Manage online booking platforms including Booking.com, Expedia, HRS, and TripAdvisor
• Oversee reservations, pricing strategies, and channel management
• Utilize and manage eZee PMS (mandatory or strong advantage)
4. Food & Beverage Oversight
• Supervise restaurant and bar operations
• Ensure compliance with HACCP and food safety standards
• Drive menu performance, cost efficiency, and guest satisfaction
5. Team Leadership & People Management
• Lead, mentor, and manage hotel staff across all departments
• Foster a high-performance, disciplined, and service-driven culture
• Handle staff scheduling, training, and performance management
6. Compliance & Administration
• Ensure compliance with Zanzibar/Tanzania hospitality regulations
• Manage supplier relationships, contracts, and procurement processes
• Maintain operational policies, procedures, and reporting systems
7. Guest Experience & Brand Growth
• Drive guest satisfaction and online reputation management
• Handle guest feedback and resolve issues promptly
• Implement creative strategies to enhance guest engagement and experience
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Tourism, or a related field
• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in the hospitality industry
• Proven experience in a senior management role (Hotel Manager / General Manager level)
• Experience in hotel opening, relaunch, or restructuring is highly preferred
Key Skills & Competencies
• Strong operational and financial management skills
• Excellent understanding of hotel systems and distribution channels
• Proficiency in eZee PMS is a strong advantage
• Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
• Guest-focused with strong attention to detail
• Hands-on, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset
Languages
• English (Upper-Intermediate or higher – required)
• Additional languages such as French and Russian are an added advantage
Additional Requirements
• Strong understanding of Zanzibar/Tanzania hospitality environment and regulations
• Experience in supplier management and contract negotiations
• Knowledge of guest engagement strategies and hospitality trends
• Understanding of clubbing systems is an added advantage
• Must be willing to relocate to Zanzibar, Tanzania
• Must possess a valid passport
