Job summary
We are seeking a Head of Technology – a senior leader who blends deep technical expertise with commercial acumen. This role leads our technical function (solution architecture, delivery quality, vendor relationships, and pre-sales engineering) while also serving as a client-facing trusted advisor to enterprise accounts.

Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Delivery
Lead, mentor, and manage the technical team (~8 staff) across cybersecurity and MSSP service lines
Own solution architecture, POC design, and technical delivery for all client engagements
Enforce technical standards, deployment methodologies, and quality assurance
Oversee client onboarding and drive service delivery KPIs (uptime, incident response, SLA adherence)
Account Management & Client Relationships
Serve as technical account lead for key enterprise clients
Conduct regular Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with performance data, roadmaps, and upsell recommendations
Build relationships with technical and executive stakeholders at banks, telcos, and large retailer
Identify opportunities to expand managed service adoption and cross-sell across solution pillars
Business Acumen & Strategic Contribution
Support revenue growth strategy, focusing on MRR growth through managed service retainers
Lead technical content for bids, tenders, and proposals
Evaluate new vendor partnerships and service line extensions
Represent us at industry events and client briefings
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field (Master’s an advantage)
Minimum 8 years in IT/cybersecurity, with at least 3 years in a technical leadership role
Hands-on experience with endpoint security, SIEM, SOC operations, or threat intelligence platforms
Proven track record managing enterprise client relationships and delivering complex tech projects
Strong business acumen – ability to translate technical capability into commercial value
Excellent communication skills and confidence engaging C-suite stakeholders
Technical Competencies
Cybersecurity vendor platforms (EDR, XDR, Identity Protection, firewalls)
SIEM/SOC tooling and MDR service delivery
Unified Communications: 3CX, VoIP, contact centre systems
Cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP), network security, enterprise IT architecture
Familiarity with CBK Cybersecurity Guidelines, ISO 27001, NIST CSF
Highly Desirable
Certifications: CISSP, CISM, CrowdStrike CCFA/CCFR, Microsoft Azure/Security, or equivalent
Experience with public sector tenders and government procurement in Kenya
Prior MSSP, cybersecurity reseller, or VAR environment experience
Knowledge of East African market (banking, telco, retail, insurance)
