Job Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Human Resources (HR) Manager to lead and oversee all HR functions within the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies, ensuring compliance with employment laws, driving employee engagement, managing talent acquisition, and supporting organizational growth through effective people management practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Lead the recruitment, selection, onboarding, and retention of employees.
- Oversee performance management, employee development, and succession planning initiatives.
- Manage employee relations, disciplinary processes, grievance handling, and conflict resolution.
- Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws, statutory requirements, and company policies.
- Develop and implement learning and development programs to enhance employee performance.
- Manage compensation, benefits, and rewards programs.
- Prepare HR reports, workforce analytics, and management reports to support decision-making.
- Advise senior management on HR strategies and organizational development.
- Foster a positive workplace culture that promotes employee engagement, diversity, and high performance.
- Oversee HR budgets and ensure efficient utilization of departmental resources.
- Perform any other HR-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Must be a registered member of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM).
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in Human Resource Management, with progressive responsibility.
- Strong knowledge of employment legislation, HR policies, and best practices.
- Proven experience in recruitment, performance management, employee relations, and training.
- Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and HR Information Systems (HRIS) is an added advantage.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.
- Willingness to work in Uganda.
