We are seeking a competent, proactive, and highly organized HR Professional to join our team. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment with a workforce of 200–500 employees and be capable of managing the full spectrum of Human Resource and administrative functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement recruitment strategies for casual, contract, and permanent employees.
- Coordinate the entire recruitment process, including advertising, shortlisting, interviewing, selection, onboarding, and induction.
- Engage and deploy casual employees while ensuring adequate staffing levels.
- Prepare, administer, and maintain employment contracts in consultation with management.
- Maintain and update employee records and HR information within the payroll system.
- Process workers' payroll, including attendance, daily worked hours, wages, statutory deductions, and related records.
- Coordinate staff training programmes, identify training needs, and maintain training records.
- Ensure compliance with company HR policies, procedures, labour laws, and the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
- Handle disciplinary matters, including investigations, warning letters, suspensions, and terminations in accordance with company policy and labour laws.
- Address employee grievances, welfare matters, and maintain effective employee relations.
- Maintain positive industrial relations with employees and relevant stakeholders.
- Manage work injury benefit claims (WIBA), liaise with relevant authorities, and coordinate related court matters where necessary.
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health requirements and coordinate workplace health and safety initiatives.
- Manage issuance and control of staff uniforms,personal protective equipment (PPE), stationeries etc.
- Monitor employee attendance, hospital attendance records, leave confirmations, exits, and other employee lifecycle activities.
- Prepare monthly security staff duty rosters.
- Maintain proper custody of HR and Administration records and confidential employee files.
- Coordinate labour-related matters, including inspections, disputes, and statutory compliance.
- Ensure proper workforce planning and deployment to avoid overstaffing or understaffing.
- Perform administrative duties to ensure compliance with reference to; Legal and statutory laws i.e. NEMA, NCC, KEBS, DOSH, NTSA etc.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by Management.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management.
- Must be a registered member of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM).
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in Human Resource Management within a manufacturing environment employing 200–500+ employees.
- Demonstrated experience handling payroll, employee relations, disciplinary procedures, recruitment, performance management, labour laws, and statutory compliance.
- Practical knowledge of Kenyan Labour Laws, Employment Act, Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA), Work Injury Benefits Act (WIBA), and Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs).
- Experience handling labour disputes, disciplinary hearings, and employee grievance management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and HR/Payroll software.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and report-writing skills.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
