Job Description (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); The Aga Khan Academy Nairobi is operated by Aga Khan Education Service Kenya (AKESK), a non-profit organization, with close to a hundred years’ experience operating schools in Kenya. Our first formal schools were opened in , and AKESK currently operates 11 schools in Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu and Eldoret, serving close to 5, students with a quality, affordable education.Summary The teachers will deliver high-quality and vibrant lessons that enable each student to be highly imaginative, challenge perceptions, and develop creative and analytical skills. He/She will enable the students to better understand the arts in context and the cultural histories supporting artworks, developing an inquiring and empathetic worldview as well as enabling Arts to challenge and enrich personal identity and build awareness of the aesthetic in a real-world context.Key Responsibilities Collaboratively plan units of study designed for maximizing learning for all studentsDeliver effective, differentiated, and inquiry-based lessons in a friendly and supportive atmosphereCreate a safe and conducive environment in which the students can learn and thriveUse varied, adequate assessments, including formative and summative assessments in line with the International Baccalaureate Organization requirementsEngage parents regularly and effectively in the education of their childrenDemonstrate in-depth knowledge of the relevant subject and modern pedagogyAccurately evaluate and comment on both the ability and developmental potential of each studentEffectively communicate with students, colleagues, and parents, including through email and the school information systemDemonstrate an experience of high professional values and practicesShow profound commitment to ongoing professional growth and to taking on responsibility for fulfilling the vision and philosophy of the Aga Khan Academy, Nairobi Qualifications and Experience Bachelor’s degree in the respective fieldTSC Certification5 years of IB Middle Years Programme and/or IB Diploma outstanding teaching experience as well as previous Middle Years’ Programme experience
