A well-established leading retirement benefits scheme with fund value of more than Kshs. 16 Billion and an inhouse scheme administration with already setup secretariat is looking forward to recruit dynamic, innovative and result-orientated individuals to fill in the following positions;

1. Job Title: Investment Analyst

Purpose of the Job
The position is responsible for supporting all the investment activities of the Scheme

Main Duties and Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities are:

I. Operational Roles and Responsibilities

a) Provide support in monitoring the operations of the DB and DC Schemes investment portfolios with a focus on maximizing returns at minimal risks
b) Provide support to monitor targeted Scheme’s investment strategies documented through the Investment Policy Statement and Schemes strategy
c) Assessment of asset allocations and ensuring appropriate portfolio re-balancing by the investment managers
d) Providing key support in identification, appraisal, structuring and negotiation of alternative and offshore investments
e) Participate in analysing investments portfolios valuation, performance and risk metrics
f) Participate in investment reporting & ensuring investments compliance
g) Monitoring custodial account cash balances to ensure timely investment, accurate collection of income from financial instruments, optimal cash flow projections (withdrawals for operational use & receipt of contributions) and cash movement reconciliation between fund managers and custodian records
h) Support tracking of existing financial assets performance to provide insight on performance issues/recommend for divestment sale where necessary
i) Conducting assets valuation and ensure reconciliation with fund managers reports
j) Identifying and regularly conducting the Scheme’s investment SWOT analysis
k) Maintain accurate Investment register;
l) Participate in the forward-planning on investments;
m) Preparing investment reports on a monthly basis.
n) Participate in the preparation of investment proposals
o) Participate in looking for prospects from the referral, leads and any other sources
p) Participate in reviewing business trends and collecting investment-related data
q) Develop presentations to be used by the unit leader to relevant parties

Key Result Areas:
The job holder’s accountability areas are outlined as follows;

• Efficient support for investment matters
• Submission of accurate, timely and relevant investment reports
• Enforcement of relevant guidelines, rules and regulations related to investment
• Successful execution of work processes assigned.

Knowledge and Skills Required:
The job holder must possess;

• A Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: Finance, Business Administration/Management, Commerce, Entrepreneurship or its equivalent from a recognized university
Must have Two (2) years’ experience in a pension scheme
• A professional qualification in investment such as ICIFA, CISI, CPA or CFA will be an added advantage
• Knowledge in identifying, analysing, negotiating, structuring investment portfolios
Knowledge of investment in pension funds as well as global trends and developments for similar investments
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong problem-solving skills and be able to multi-task and manage multiple priorities
• Ability to work under pressure.
