Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise solar installation teams on commercial, industrial, and residential projects.
- Install and oversee the installation of solar panels, mounting structures, inverters, battery storage systems (BESS), combiner boxes, and associated electrical wiring.
- Interpret technical drawings, single-line diagrams, and system layouts to ensure accurate installations.
- Conduct pre-installation site assessments and verify structural readiness.
- Perform system testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and fault diagnosis.
- Ensure all installations comply with EPRA regulations, Kenyan electrical codes, and health & safety standards.
- Maintain installation records, progress reports, and project documentation.
- Manage site tools, materials, and equipment effectively.
- Mentor and train junior installers to maintain quality workmanship.
- Liaise professionally with clients, project managers, and engineers throughout project execution.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Certificate in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Installation, Renewable Energy, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 4 years' hands-on experience in solar PV installation, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or team lead role.
- Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, inverters, battery storage systems (BESS), mounting structures, and electrical installations.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and electrical schematics.
- Valid EPRA T2 License is mandatory (T3 License will be an added advantage).
- Knowledge of electrical safety standards and working-at-height procedures. OSHA/NEBOSH certification is an added advantage.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to travel extensively to project sites across Kenya.
- Valid driving licence will be an added advantage.
