About the Role:
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Machine Operator specialized in ENS and MDF operations to join our production team. The ideal candidate will be highly flexible, hands-on, and adept at handling a variety of wood and composite machinery, ensuring precision and efficiency in production. The role requires someone who is detail-oriented, technically proficient, and can work to meet production targets.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operate ENS, MDF, and other related machines safely and efficiently.
• Work with materials such as plywood, MBF, particleboard, and other composites.
• Execute edging, routing, and cutting operations to meet product specifications.
• Understand and apply precise measurements to create materials according to design.
• Perform LIB and leaping tasks accurately on relevant machinery.
• Maintain machines, troubleshoot issues, and ensure consistent operation.
• Monitor production quality and report any defects or discrepancies.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace adhering to safety protocols.
• Use Excel and other basic software to log production data and track performance.
• Additional advantage: Knowledge of granite materials and handling techniques.
Required Skills & Competencies:
• Proven experience as a machine operator in the wood, MDF, or composite material industry.
• Strong technical knowledge of plywood, MBF, particleboard, and MDF.
• Proficiency in edging, routing, LIB, leaping, and cutting operations.
• Ability to operate and maintain machinery safely and efficiently.
• Flexible, adaptable, and able to work under production pressures.
• Attention to detail and high-quality workmanship.
• Good organizational and Excel skills.
• Understanding of granite handling is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and proactive approach to work.
Qualifications:
• Minimum certificate or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Wood Technology, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience operating MDF, ENS, and other wood processing machines.
• Safety-conscious and knowledgeable about workplace health standards.
Remuneration:
• Base salary: Ksh40,000 plus commissions
• Commission on meeting and exceeding production targets
