The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of quality care that promotes safety and well-being of all patients within the assigned unit.Responsibilities Leads the team in formulation, implementation and evaluation of annual goals and objectives in accordance with departmental and Hospital strategic objectivesFosters pleasant working environment through motivational leadership style to enhance job satisfaction amongst the staffLeads the team in development, implementation and review of policies, procedures, protocols, and care guidelines based on international standardsParticipates in the budget process and ensures unit-based control of operational costs based on institutional targetsNetworks and collaborates with other stakeholders in ensuring delivery of quality patient careLeads the team in Clinical Quality Improvement (CQI) projects, Clinical Care Program Certification (CCPC) and ensures multidisciplinary participationContinuously initiates innovative and evidence-based strategies to improve quality of patient careLeads the team in evaluation of care and outcomes through Root Cause Analysis (RCAs) of incidences, Mortality and Morbidity discussions, and clinical indicatorsResponsible for the recruitment, selection, orientation and on- going training of the Nursing teamUndertakes performance reviews of staff and develops action plans to ensure individual staff growthDesigns proactive and innovative ways to enhance customer satisfactionMonitors staff and client satisfaction with services in assigned unit and takes appropriate action to close gaps Requirements Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (B.Sc. in Nursing) of Higher Diploma in NursingMust have current and valid registration and licensure with the Nursing Council of KenyaMinimum of 5 years clinical nursing experience in acute care hospitalValid Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certificationDemonstrate expert knowledge and skills in area of responsibilityDemonstrates leadership and management skillsEffective communicator at both operational and interpersonal settings
