Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified and passionate Occupational Therapy Trainer to join our academic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality training to students pursuing occupational therapy courses. Key Responsibilities:

 

1. Teaching and Instruction:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective lessons in accordance with the nursing curriculum.

• Use innovative teaching methods, including simulations, demonstrations, and case studies, to enhance learning.

 

2. Curriculum Development:

• Participate in the review and development of nursing curricula to ensure it meets regulatory and industry standards.

• Incorporate the latest evidence-based practices and trends in nursing education.

 

3. Clinical Supervision:

• Oversee students during clinical placements, ensuring they gain hands-on experience in line with course objectives.

• Provide guidance and feedback to students during practical sessions.

 

4. Student Support and Mentorship:

• Mentor and advise students on academic, personal, and professional development matters.

• Identify and address students’ learning needs to ensure their success.

 

5. Assessment and Evaluation:

• Prepare and administer tests, assignments, and exams to evaluate students’ progress.

• Maintain accurate records of student performance and provide constructive feedback.

 

6. Regulatory Compliance:

• Ensure that all teaching activities comply with nursing council regulations and standards.

• Prepare documentation required for audits, inspections, and accreditation.

 

7. Professional Development:

• Stay updated on advancements in nursing and education through continuous professional development.

• Attend conferences, workshops, and seminars as required.

 

 

 

 

Qualifications and Skills

  • Education: A Bachelor’s or diploma\ in Occupational Therapy or a related field.
  • Certification: Registered and licensed occupational therapist with relevant professional body
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in occupational therapy. Teaching or training experience is an advantage.
  • Skills:
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to inspire and motivate students.
    • Proficient in developing and delivering engaging learning materials.
    • Competence in clinical supervision and patient management techniques.
    • Knowledge of assessment tools and therapeutic interventions.
