A primary (P1)  and an early years education (ECDE) teacher's job.

Are you a self driven, result oriented teacher and passionate about education?

Our center seeks to recruit primary and early years education teachers who are willing and ready to work with children from a typical Kenyan rural setting. The school is privately funded from Norway, Netherlands and USA. We are part of an international network of donors and stakeholders.

Duties and responsibilities of the teachers

1. Keeping all their professional teacher records updated. This includes lesson plans, class registers, assessment books and records  e.t.c

2. Attending all their  teaching lessons and all other responsibilities assigned to him including being in charge of clubs and any other responsibility.

3.Adhering to the code of conduct expected of teachers - refer to the Teachers service code of conduct.

4.Attending weekly teachers meetings unless with express permission from the headteacher.

5. Enriching learning in his/her classes by providing enough teaching aids and learning resources that aid learning and understanding.

6. Setting performance goals with the help of the head teacher at the end of each term.

7. Supervising learners at all the major school breaks to ensure that all learners and school property are protected from harm and damage respectively.

8. Providing constructive and frequent feedback to learners in a manner that will make them positively accept your feedback and change or continue with the same behavior. 

Qualities we are looking for

1.Qualified teachers with one or more years of experience.

2. Must be  good communicators in the English language so as to influence learners to be conversant in the same language.

3. Digitally literate

4. Committed team players who are keen to contribute to the development of our forward looking school.

5. Willing to play a part in any of the school's extra curricular and club activities.

6. Teachers Service Commission Certified teachers .

Academic Qualifications

1. P1 ( Primary Teachers Examination ) certificate in education or Diploma in Primary Teachers Education ( DPTE ) certificate for the primary teacher job.

2. Early Childhood Development Certificate ( ECDE ) or the Diploma in Early Childhood Teacher Education Certificate for the early years education teachers job.

3. Training and Knowledge on Competency Based Curriculum.

Salary Scale

ECDE or DECTE teachers - Minimum gross pay / month Kshs. (15,000 - 20, 000)

PTE or DPTE teachers - Minimum gross pay/ month Kshs.(19,000 - 25,000)
