ResponsibilitiesThe responsibilities for the position include:The Research Director will lead monitoring, evaluation, and research related to multisectoral nutrition programming. Project management of a portfolio of research and evaluationsDevelop conceptual frameworks that guide the work under NuMERAL.Manage and analyze large-scale data files for research.Apply appropriate quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods techniques to collect and analyze data.Develop monitoring, evaluation, and learning indicatorsClose coordination with thought partners in low-and middle-income countriesPrepare technical reports and journal articles and present findings to clients, professional associations, and the public.Mentor research and evaluation analysts, share approaches to solving concrete problems, and provide feedback on the work of others.Thought leadership in nutrition mainstreaming in reproductive, maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health (RMNCAH) policies and servicesManage or lead projects or tasks. QualificationsEducation, Knowledge, and Experience: A Ph.D. (preferred) or MSc (required) in nutrition, public health, public policy, economics or related social science field, with expertise in monitoring, evaluation and learningAt least 3 years experience required with a PH.D. and 7 years required with Masters.Prior experience with monitoring, evaluation, and learning projects with USAIDPrior project management experiencePrior experience engaging with universities and research firms in low-and middle-income countriesPrior experience in nutrition and health research and/or programmingAble to apply advanced monitoring, evaluation, and learning and/or research methods, and able to communicate effectively about these methods to non-technical audiences.Highly proficient in STATA, R, or SPSS.Knowledge or experience with the analysis of large-scale data, and the design of experiments and quasi-experiments. Skills Strong quantitative and mixed-methods research and evaluation skillsPreference for knowledge of French or Spanish in addition to English
