They are pioneers in utilizing modern poultry technology, including advanced hatchery systems, automatic incubators, and specialized breeder cages, to provide high-quality livestock solutions to farmers across the coastal region.
Job Summary
They are seeking a technically-minded and commercially-driven Sales Officer to lead their market expansion. You will be responsible for selling poultry equipment (incubators, cages, feeders), livestock, and farm produce to commercial farmers, wholesalers, and retail partners. The ideal candidate understands the technical aspects of poultry farming and can provide value-based solutions to clients.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Sales: Market and sell high-value poultry equipment, including automatic incubators, hatchery accessories, and specialized cage systems.
Agribusiness Outreach: Identify and build relationships with commercial poultry farmers, agricultural cooperatives, and hotel/restaurant suppliers in Kilifi County and beyond.
Solution Selling: Consult with prospective farmers to understand their production goals and recommend the appropriate equipment or livestock solutions.
Channel Management: Manage the sales cycle for fruit produce and poultry products, ensuring consistent distribution to wholesale and retail markets.
Product Expertise: Stay updated on regenerative agriculture and modern poultry-keeping techniques to act as a knowledgeable advisor to customers.
After-Sales Support: Coordinate with the technical team to ensure customers are properly trained on equipment use and satisfied with their purchases.
Qualifications & Experience
Education: Diploma or Degree in Agribusiness, Agriculture, Sales & Marketing, or a related field.
Experience: 2–4 years of experience in sales, with a specific preference for candidates from the Poultry, Livestock, or Farm Machinery sectors.
Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with poultry-keeping equipment (incubators, brooders, feeders) and basic knowledge of poultry health/production is highly desirable.
Local Insight: Strong understanding of the Malindi and wider Coastal Kenyan agricultural market.
Driver’s License: A valid motorcycle or vehicle license is preferred for field visits and client site assessments.
Key Competencies
Proven ability to close high-value sales and hit monthly revenue targets.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate technical farm concepts in simple terms (English & Swahili).
Self-managed and capable of working independently in the field.
