Job Summary:
The School Nurse is responsible for promoting and maintaining the health and well-being of students and staff at Happyland. This role involves providing first aid, managing student health records, offering health education, and ensuring compliance with health regulations. The School Nurse plays a critical role in fostering a healthy learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Student Health Care:
o Provide first aid and emergency medical care to students and staff.
o Administer prescribed medications as per school policies and parental/guardian authorization.
o Identify and manage common illnesses and refer serious cases to medical professionals.
2. Health Records Management:
o Maintain and update student medical records, ensuring confidentiality.
o Prepare health reports for school administration as needed.
3. Preventive Health & Safety:
o Ensure the school environment meets health and safety standards.
o Collaborate with school administration to develop and implement health policies.
o Conduct health screenings and coordinate medical check-ups.
4. Collaboration & Communication:
o Work closely with teachers, counselors, and parents to address student health concerns.
o Liaise with healthcare providers and public health officials for referrals and community health initiatives.
o Provide guidance on infection control measures, including COVID-19 protocols.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Diploma or Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution.
• Valid nursing license from the relevant regulatory body.
• Certification in First Aid and CPR.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a school or pediatric healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of the CBC curriculum and its impact on student well-being is an added advantage.
• Preferably a lady of 35 yrs and above
