Summit Recruitment and Search Africa is a leading Recruitment and Executive Search agency head quartered in Kenya providing outstanding talent to a wide range of companies and NGO’s in various business sectors across Africa.

Our client, a floriculture trading Company based in Nairobi is seeking to recruit a Senior Accountant. Reporting to the Finance Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for accounting, control, financial planning, and the preparation of monthly and annual reports. The ideal candidate Must have over 7 years working experience with at least 3 years in a Managerial role.

Key Requirements:

Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Accounts department. Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures. Supervise, coach, and train the Accounts staff. Generate Gross Profit reports on a weekly and Periodic basis and present them to management. Prepare weekly Suppliers & Debtors aging reports. Prepare payroll monthly. Ensure all general ledger accounts are updated in a timely manner and are accurate and reconciled monthly. Ensure all overheads are properly booked in the system. Review Balance Sheet reconciliations on a quarterly basis Support the Finance Director in preparing management accounts and year end audit preparation. Review and monitor performance versus the budget and reach out to teams to offer advice and guidance where need be. Ensure compliance with statutory and legal requirements. Continuously identify possible areas of improvement within the department to increase efficiency.


Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. CPA (K) qualification. 7 years’ experience with 3 years in managing a team. Experience working with SAP B1 will be an added advantage. Working knowledge of Tax laws and Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Strong financial analysis skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong organizational and stress management skills. Ability to communicate well, both written and verbal. Ability to train and manage a team.
