It was the second public university to be established in Kenya, after the University of Nairobi REF: MU/ADM/01/4/Requirements for direct appointment For appointment to this grade, a candidate must:- have Master’s degree in Quantity Survey or Building Economics or its equivalent;have valid registration by the Board of Registration of Architects and Quantity Surveyors of Kenya;have registered with the Institute of Quantity Surveyors of Kenya (IQSK);have a minimum of twelve years of experience in an organization comparable in scope and status to the Quantities and Contracts Department of the Ministry in charge of infrastructural development in Kenya or a large firm of private Quantity Surveyors;have a certificate in Leadership and Management course; andhave demonstrable professional experience, competence and high degree of administrative leadership capacity.Relevant PhD degree will be an added advantage. Requirements for Serving OfficersFor appointment to this grade, an officer must:- have Master’s degree in Quantity Survey or Building Economics or its equivalent;have served in the Grade of Quantity Surveyor I Grade 12 (XII) for at least three years;have registered with the Board of Registration of Architects and Quantity Surveyors of Kenya;have registered with the Institute of Quantity Surveyors of Kenya (IQSK);have demonstrable experience and high degree of administrative leadership capacity as a Quantity Surveyor or similar level;have a certificate in Leadership and Management course; andhave shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results
