Job Description/Requirements
Job Title: Special Education Teacher
Reports to: Head of Special Education / Principal
Position Type: Full-Time
Key Responsibilities:
● Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs and goals.
● Adapt general education lessons and teach various subjects to students with mild to moderate disabilities.
● Use a variety of instructional techniques and technologies to support different learning styles and abilities.
● Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth.
● Monitor and assess student progress regularly and adjust teaching strategies as needed.
● Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, therapists, and parents to ensure coordinated and effective support for students.
● Maintain accurate student records, including progress reports, IEP documentation, and communication logs.
● Participate in IEP meetings, staff development, training sessions, and school-related activities.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in Special Education (mandatory).
● Valid teaching certification/license in Special Education (as required by local/state education authority).
● Experience working with students with disabilities is preferred but not mandatory.
● Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
● Patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for supporting diverse learners.
