DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Machine Operation & Monitoring

  • Operate food and beverage processing machinery in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Monitor critical production parameters, including temperature, pressure, speed, flow rates, and other machine-specific metrics.
  • Ensure machines run at optimal efficiency while maintaining product quality.
  • Adjust machine settings as needed to maintain consistent production output.


Maintenance & Troubleshooting

  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on machinery to avoid breakdowns.
  • Identify, diagnose, and troubleshoot minor mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
  • Liaise with maintenance or engineering teams to resolve complex machine faults promptly.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and ensure all corrective actions are documented.


Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure production complies with hygiene, safety, and quality standards (HACCP, ISO, or company SOPs).
  • Report deviations from quality standards or machine performance promptly.
  • Support the quality assurance team in testing and inspecting products as needed.


Production Support

  • Collaborate with production teams to meet daily output targets.
  • Assist with the setup, calibration, and commissioning of new machinery or equipment.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, including process optimization, waste reduction, and efficiency enhancement.
  • Participate in training programs to improve skills and operational knowledge.


Safety & Hygiene

  • Follow all safety protocols and wear required protective equipment at all times.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace around machinery.
  • Report any unsafe conditions, accidents, or near misses to the supervisor immediately.


Record Keeping & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of machine performance, production output, maintenance activities, and downtime incidents.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports for the production/engineering supervisor.
  • Contribute to audits and inspections by providing machine-related data and reports.



KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Diploma or Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in a similar role within the food processing industry.
  • Strong understanding of machinery operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with food safety and quality standards (e.g., HACCP, ISO).
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Attention to detail and ability to monitor critical parameters accurately.
